What is this "Zark" and "Mark" ?
Sometimes when we play, we meet rather strange gamers who waste our quest time by behaving strangely or leaving midway without an explanation. On the brighter side, there are some great teammates that we would love to play with again!

When you meet a good player, you can "Zark" or vouch for them. This way, when any of your friends search for the good player, they would know that you had a good experience. However, you "Mark" the toons that didn't behave well.

You can also leave comments on other toons to provide some feedback, props or digs.
What does claiming a character do?
Claiming a character means that you intend to verify it to prove that the character belongs to you. But, until you finish the verification process for that character, you cannot use it to rate or comment on other players. If you mistakenly claim a character that's not yours, you can unclaim it.
What's the difference between a Verified and Not Verified Character ?

A verified character is one that has a ZarkmarK owner. Verified characters can leave Zarks, Marks and comments about other characters. You can also use this to easily tell which of your friends and guildmates are using ZarkmarK!

Characters that are not verified have no ZarkmarK owner, which means the player probably doesn't use ZarkmarK right now.

Why do I need to verify my WoW character(s) to leave feedback?
By verifying your character on ZarkmarK, you prove that the character belongs to you. You have preserved your toon's reputation to comment on others. This is an integral part of the Zarkmark as it ensures the authenticity of all comments.
How do I verify my character?
After creating an account with ZarkmarK, go into your User Profile and claim your character(s). When you do, you will be given the option to verify that character.
How many characters can I verify?
You can verify as many characters that you own.
How does the verification process work?
The verification process is very easy! The steps can be found in your User Profile page.

1. You will be asked to log into World of Warcraft to purchase and equip 2 random items. These noob level items can be found at numerous vendors throughout Azeroth and are purchased at little cost.
2. After equipping these 2 items, log out of that toon and wait until your WoW Armory page has been updated with those 2 items. It takes as little as 2 minutes, but maybe 1-2 hours for Blizzard to update each character's profile.
3. Return to your Zarkmark User Profile and click VERIFY. (However, you can log back in and continue playing while waiting - just don't log out again until verified! Armory takes a snapshot on logout.)
What's this business?
A appears next to characters you have friended through your character profile. This way, you can quickly pick out if any of your friends have said anything about someone.
Would I compromise the security of my WoW account by verifying?
Absolutely not! ZarkmarK will never ask you for your World of Warcraft account information. We use WoW Armory (provided by Blizzard) to see all outfit changes on your character. We never, at any time, have access to your WoW account.
What are the different character ranks found on ZarkmarK?
Each character starts with the bronze ring on its character profile. As that character leaves more comments for others, he or she will graduate to a higher rank ring. How many comments does it take to graduate to a higher rank? You'll have to find that out yourself!

Comments

How should the comment system be used?
Each character's page has a comment section. In this section, you leave your feedback about your teaming experience or whatever else you like or dislike about the character.
How does the moderation work? (Or, "Why did you delete my comment?")
Community Managers of Zarkmark often troll the site to see how it's doing. If he or she comes across a comment that is deemed inappropriate, he or she will have the option to remove it. ZarkmarK wants everyone to have a fun time on this site.
I can't seem to find the character I want to rate and comment on! What do I do?
For characters to be found on ZarkmarK, it must first be found on the WoW Armory. If you can find the character on the WoW Armory, but not on ZarkmarK, let us know!
Can I rate a guild?
Not yet.

Miscellaneous

Why do you call this ZarkmarK?
We thought of a lot of different names (for many many hours!). Zark is a random sound of the universe in addition to being the alien planet that Calvin dreams of. And, ZarkmarK is fun to say!
